Style Guide: Don't Inhale

Hello again dear reader,

This writer is overwhelmed by the referendum storm howling down every city street here in Ireland. As someone not able to vote this writer was thinking back to the women of yester year who suffered from the same uncertainty and lack of control over their own fates.

With this on her mind, this writer decided to scroll through frivolous fashion magazines to take her mind off of the continuing dehumanization of her gender.

And what, dear reader, do you think this writer found?

Corsets.

No, dear reader, you did not read that wrong. No, you have not been transported back to an Edwardian novel.

As women continue to fight to retain control over their own bodies. A right that, one would think, was enshrined in the constitutions of any non-slave owning, modern state. As they continue to battle for the most basic of human dignity fashion designers are helping the cause by re-relegating women to corsets.

What is next dear reader? Are we to return to the days of male only suffrage? Are women to lose our identity and property to our husbands?

Fight back women. Fight back men.
