The Society Page: Doctor john's Wife

Speculation has been rife recently as to the whereabouts of Dr John’s wife. She hasn’t been seen in more than a fortnight, since the couple left their home in town to spend time together (with their young child) in the countryside.

Mrs John’s creativity is well renowned throughout her social circles. She is known for her beautifully decorated home and lovely evening parties.

Mrs John’s sister in law Jennie has been seen in town a few times carrying out the domestic chores that should be the zenith of every woman’s day. While she refuses to give comment on the state or location of her sister in law her purchases indicate that the woman is still living with Dr John and his sister.

There have been rumors that Mrs John has escaped from her husband’s home and is living on her own, but this writer thinks that the likelihood of that is slim. After all, what woman would leave such an idyllic life as that led by Mrs John?

Other rumors have swirled that Dr John has locked his wife in the house’s disused nursery, but again this writer finds these to be too incredible. What sort of a man would lock his wife into a state of non-personhood?! Or for that matter what sort of man would liken his wife’s mental capacity to that of a child?!

So, while this writer does not have any hard evidence to as to the whereabouts of Mrs John she waits eagerly for her reappearance on the social scene.
