Ms Victoria Woodhull, nee Claflin, was seen today entering the new offices of her magazine The Humanitarian. She was said to be meeting with fellow activists regarding publication of her many works. She is said by someone present at the event (which this writer will not reveal!) to have dealt with mainly two topics “the one political, the other social. The question of Female Suffrage, and of women’s political rights under the constitution” and “the question of raising society, through women, to a higher standard of morals.”
While her previous publication Woodhull and Claflin’s Weekly made such forward steps as to publish the first English translation of Marx’s The Communist Manifesto Ms Woodhull gained notability for her views on suffrage and birth control (specifically that women should be able to have any sort of control, a stance that this writer strongly supports).

When approached for comment Ms Woodhull would not clarify whether the meeting was to restart her stalled presidential campaign, which famously stalled during the 1872 election. Nor would Ms Woodhull comment as to whether she and sister Tennessee would be entering the trading floor again at the helm of their brokerage firm (which as I’m sure the reader remembers was the first run solely by women).
While this writer may not have the spiritualistic chops of Miss Woodhull she thinks that it is safe to say Woodhull is a name that will be well remembered in history. Furthermore, that her strength and determination must inspire a new generation of young women to take up her mantel of progress. Following the precedent set by Ms Woodhull this writer foresees a woman president within the next decade if not sooner.
